Laura Kraut

For almost two decades, Laura Kraut has represented the United States in the Olympic Games, World Cup Finals, and over 29 Nation’s Cup teams.
All of this began when her mother, Carol, gave Laura her first riding lesson as a small child. Laura’s sister, Mary Elizabeth, also loved riding, and almost forty years later the sisters still work together to fulfill their childhood dream of discovering, training and competing the best show jumpers in the world. Mary Elizabeth manages the horses, staff and barn while Laura trains and shows her current grand prix horses while seeking out talented young horses to bring along.

Aboard Anthem, Laura contested four consecutive World Cup Finals, from 2002 to 2005. At the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, Laura helped her team win the Silver Medal riding Miss Independent. Laura and her mount, Cedric, helped the United States win Team Gold at the 2008 Olympic Games. In 2010, the pair was also members of the U.S. Team for the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky.

Aside from her many competitive accomplishments, Laura was recognized for her great sportsmanship when, in 2003, the United States Olympic Committee awarded her the Jack Kelly Fair Play Award.

Most recently, Laura and her current mount Zeremonie were part of the US Show Jumping Team competing against the best in the world at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina. Laura and Zeremonie delivered a cracking clear round to help the US Team secure a Gold medal for the first time in 32 years!
